Stain Glass
VISIT BY THE BRITISH SOCIETY OF MASTER GLASS PAINTER 21st JULY 2012
|
Martin Travers was a polific stained glass artist both new and with love of medieval windows. He was presented with an unusually large collection of fragments hidden by brave post-Reformation churchwardens at St. Leonard's when multiple acres of glass were smashed throughout the country. His re-arrangements are masterly - the Evocative East window stunning! I could have stood there for hours but tempus ffugit. Alfred Fisher also figures in the list and part of our group, describing his windows from an artist's point of view. He is also an authority on medieval glass. Doris Rollinson |
