To the Worshipful Edward William Hansell, Esquire,M.A., Barrister-at-Law, Vicar-General, Official Principal and Commissary, lawfully constituted of the Right Reverend Father in God, Hubert Murray, by Divine Permission Lord Bishop of Oxford.

 

The humble Petition of the INCUMBENT AND CHURCHWARDENS of the Parish of St. Leonard's Chesham Bois in the County of Bucks and Diocese of Oxford.

 

Sheweth, that your Petitioners are desirous of Substituting Electric Lighting in the Church and Churchyard in place of Gas lighting.

 

That at a Meeting of the PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL held after due notice on the first day of April 1924 the before mentioned alterations and improvements were approved, and it was resolved to apply for the requisite Faculty to carry out the proposed work.

 

That the cost of the proposed work is intended to be defrayed by means of Donations and Subscriptions.

 

Your petitioners therefore humbly pray that a Faculty may be granted authorising them to Instal Electric Light in the Church and Churchyard in the place of Gas.

 

And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray, &c.
